The Opportunity
Position: Employment / Litigation Associate (Hybrid/Remote)
This is a unique opportunity to become involved in growing a practice area within the firm. With a range of small business and multi-national clients with thousands of employees across North America, this role will leverage the firm’s client base and work towards becoming counsel of choice for their employment and litigation matters. As we work to accomplish this mandate, the role will also focus significantly on work involving government agencies, enabling you to become well-versed in a multitude of employer/employee policies and reviewing complex fact scenarios to make recommendations to stakeholders.
This opportunity is well suited for a practical, business-minded, quick-thinking, and detail-oriented person. You will be client-facing and will work with a full range of small businesses, multi-national corporations, and government clients.
Key Responsibilities
Grow and manage a practice area within the firm.
Leverage the firm’s client base to become counsel of choice for employment and litigation matters.
Work extensively with government agencies on employer/employee policies.
Review complex fact scenarios and provide recommendations to stakeholders.
Provide excellent client service to a diverse range of clients.
Qualifications
Must be a member of the Law Society of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or Ontario.
Must reside in the Province of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or Ontario.
3-8+ years of experience in employment and litigation.
Bilingualism is an asset but not required.
Hybrid/remote working possibilities for those not residing in the Woodstock, Hartland and Florenceville-Bristol areas.
